Dáil Éireann debate -

Vol. 386 No. 5

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Items Nos. 7 and 8. It is also proposed that the Dáil shall meet tomorrow at 10.30 a.m. and shall adjourn not later than 4.30 p.m.

Is the proposal for the Dáil sitting tomorrow agreed? Agreed.

Yesterday I sought to raise, by way of Private Notice Question, the theft of drugs from the United Drug Company in Glasnevin Industrial Estate, with a street value of approximately £1 million. I wish to raise the matter on the Adjournment today.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

In view of the value of our multimillion pound meat export industry and in order to protect our reputation in Europe I should like to ask the Taoiseach if he would make Government time available to the Minister for Agriculture and Food today to make a statement to this House on the alleged misrepresentation of Australian mutton as Irish lamb in Iraq?

I am afraid that does not arise now, Deputy.

I request that the Taoiseach would consider making time available. It is a vital matter to this country and to a most important industry.

May I ask the Taoiseach if he would make Government time available next week to discuss the deterioration in morale in the Defence Forces?

Again, that is not in order now.

Perhaps the Taoiseach would indicate if he is prepared to make Government time available?

These are matters that might be arranged among the Whips.
