The names and addresses of dentists in particular areas who are participating in the extended dental benefit scheme are made available to claimants from the areas concerned on request either at their local Social Welfare office or by telephone from the Department's head office. This arrangement has been in being since the extension was introduced and has been operating well.
It is considered that publication of the complete list of participating dentists would not be in the interests of claimants or of the dentists concerned.
