Vol. 386 No. 7

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

89.

asked the Minister for Finance if his Department will re-examine the tax rebate due to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 17 as the amount of rebate to be paid falls very short of that which is due; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that the balancing statement for 1987-88 sent to the taxpayer on 19 January 1989 is in accordance with the information available to the inspector for that year. A cheque for the repayment due was issued to the taxpayer on 27 January 1989. As the repayment is smaller than the amount anticipated by the taxpayer, the inspector will communicate directly with her with a view to determining whether any further repayment is due.
