Vol. 386 No. 7

Written Answers. - Retirement Age for Teachers.

133.

asked the Minister for Education if she has any proposals to reduce the minimum retirement age for teachers from the current level of 60 years, especially for those who are unsuccessful in their voluntary redundancy or early retirement scheme; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I do not propose to take any action that could lead to a reduction in the existing minimum retirement age for teachers.
