Vol. 386 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Data for Prospective Emigrants.

24.

asked the Minister for Labour if he will request FÁS to provide the necessary data to prospective emigrants in order to enable them to go to the areas of strong economic activity in Great Britain.

It is a function of FÁS under the Labour Services Act, 1987, whenever so requested of them, to facilitate and assist persons, in whatever manner FÁS consider necessary or desirable, in obtaining employment in a state that is a member of the European Communities.

The implementation of this provision is a day to day matter for FÁS. I would suggest therefore that the Deputy contact FÁS direct in the matter.
