The INPC assumed ownership of the Whiddy Island teminal on 16 June 1986. The remit of the corporation is to maintain the facility in such a condition to allow it to play a viable role as a reactivated terminal in the future. No. capital expenditure has arisen to date.
The maintenance cost has been as follows: 1986, £250,000; 1987, £432,000; 1988 (Estimated), £475,000.
