Vol. 387 No. 1

Written Answers. - UN Peacekeeping Service.

117.

asked the Minister for Defence the reason a soldier (details supplied) has not been allowed to participate in Irish peace-keeping contingents with the United Nations; if he will agree to review the case and explain the impediments, if any, involved; if he will act on the review to ensure that the soldier can participate in United Nations peace-keeping duties, if merited; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Limerick West): As a result of an application for redress of wrongs from the soldier concerned, I have already directed that his case be reviewed. The review has not yet been completed.
