The primary responsibility for the maintenance of the drainage works in the vicinity of the South Sloblands, County Wexford, rests with the owners of the Sloblands. I can assure the Deputy that the Commissioners of Public Works are fully alive to their role of monitoring the situation with a view to ensuring that such maintenance works as may from time to time be carried out by those concerned are consistent with good engineering and drainage practice.
