Vol. 387 No. 2

Written Answers. - Non-Renewal of Lease.

71.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will ensure that there will be no renewal of the lease to a company (details supplied) in Dublin 9 of grounds recently purchased by the Garda Síochána when it comes up for renewal in June, 1989, in view of the impact of their activities on the adjoining houses.

The company in question occupy these lands under a short-term lease, which is subject to regular review, granted by the Commissioners of Public Works. The commissioners require that the company transact its business in a reasonable manner, due regard being had to the proximity of the adjoining residences. Termination of the lease is not envisaged in the near future but the performance of the lessee will continue to be monitored.
