Vol. 387 No. 2

Written Answers. - Energy Research.

99.

asked the Minister for Energy the level of State spending on energy research development and demonstration programmes in Ireland in (i) 1987 and (ii) 1988 distinguishing the amount spent in (a) rational use of energy, (b) fossil fuels, (c) renewable energy sources and (d) others.

The information sought was traditionally published by NBST and is thus now a matter for Eolas. I have been informed by Eolas that figures for 1988 are not yet compiled and that the 1987 figures are: Rational Use of Energy, £140,000; Fossil Fuels, £99,000; Renewable Energy Sources, £327,000; Others, £103,000.
