The Whitegate refinery processed 1.4 million tonnes of crude oil and feedstock during 1988 compared with 1.5 million during 1987. The amount of product which the refinery can produce is determined primarily by the mandatory offtake régime.
The refinery improved its yield performance during 1988. Given the constraints on its volume throughput and the refinery's technology this was a creditable performance.
