asked the Minister for Education, in view of replies to recent parliamentary questions and correspondence requesting grant aid from the proceeds of the national lottery to which the reply has been that all funds available under the national lottery funded capital grants scheme for the provision of recreational facilities have been fully allocated, if it is intended to allocate any funds for such projects in the current year or whether the original scheme has been suspended; if so, the provision which is being made to meet such applications for funding in the current year; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Apart from the sum which has been carried forward from 1988 to honour grant commitments already given, a decision has not yet been made as to the additional funds to be allocated in 1989 to the capital grants scheme for the provision of recreational facilities.
