asked the Minister for Education if she has sanctioned an extension to Ballinora National School, County Cork; when work will commence on the extension; and if it will be finished for the commencement of the new school year in September, 1989.

I have agreed that the extension to Ballinora National School, County Cork should proceed on a modified basis this year. Tender documents for the project have been completed and the question of invitation of tenders now arises for consideration. A decision in the matter will be/conveyed to the school authorities as early as possible. It is not possible to say at this stage when building works will commence or when the project will be completed.
