Vol. 387 No. 7

Written Answers. - Land Policy.

35.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the monitoring which is in place at present regarding land sales, leases and subdivision; if the Government has any plans to establish a statutory land authority; and if it is the intention of the Government to publish a White Paper on future land policy in Ireland.

The leasing and subdivision of land and sales to companies and non EC nationals continue to be subject to Land Commission consent.

It is not the intention of the Government to publish a White Paper on land policy in the immediate future or to establish a land authority.

Policies in relation to land will, however, be kept under continuous review in the light of the changing patterns of Irish agriculture arising both from the evolution of the EC Common Agricultural Policy and otherwise.
