Vol. 387 No. 9

Written Answers. - Revenue Commissioner's Personnel.

49.

asked the Minister for Finance the total number of staff employed by the Revenue Commissioners at present in (a) collecting taxes, (b) assessing taxes, (c) customs and excise, (d) special investigation, (e) administration, and (f) central administration; whether he has satisfied himself that the Revenue Commissioners are adequately staffed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to supply the details required by the Deputy in tabular form. Taking into account the recent allocation of additional staff resources to the office of the Revenue Commissioners, I am satisfied that the Revenue Commissioners are adequately staffed to carry out their statutory duties.

Numbers employed in the Revenue Commissioners on 27 February 1989.
