The person named has been paid his 1988 cattle and equines headage, calf premium and special beef premium schemes grants already.

He did not apply for grants under the 1988 suckler cow scheme.

69.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Galway will be paid the grants due to him.

Under the revised western package, grant aid for investment by dairy farmers in animal housing and fodder storage was conditional on their remaining within their permanent milk quota in the year of approval and the year of certification for payment of the grant. A minor proportion of the grant aid in this case must await confirmation at the end of March that the applicant remained within permanent milk quota. The major part of the aid relating to investment in pollution control will be paid shortly.
