Work on the management plan for Killarney National Park is well advanced and I hope that the document will be published within a year. The question of provisions for recreational activities will be covered in the plan but it is too early to make a detailed statement on particular aspects of it such as the provision of playing pitches. I should say, however, that it is an objective of the Killarney Urban District Council Development Plan to facilitate the provision of playing pitches in their area.
