Vol. 387 No. 10

Written Answers. - Reinstallation of Telephones.

113.

asked the Minister for Communications if Telecom Éireann has made an application to raise the charge for reinstallation of telephones which have been disconnected following failure to meet a bill; if such a charge will be levied on the business community as well as private households; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Some considerable time ago, Telecom Éireann made application for an increase in the reconnection fee for customers disconnected for non-payment of accounts. Following examination of the proposal in my Department, Telecom Éireann undertook to reconsider their proposal. No new application has been made by the company.
