Vol. 387 No. 10

Written Answers. - Kill, County Kildare, Sewerage Scheme.

121.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a decision will be made on the requested sanction of the accepted tender for contract for Kill, County Kildare sewerage scheme, for which an allocation of finance has been notified in Kildare County Council.

131.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he proposes to approve the contract in respect of the extension to sewage facilities at Kill, County Kildare; if sanction will issue in the current year; if he foresees any difficulties which might impede the implementation of the contract in the current year; if sufficient funds are available for this work; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 121 and 131 together.

A further recommendation to appoint a contractor has been made to my Department by Kildare County Council following the withdrawal of the originally recommended contractor. This recommendation is being examined at present and my Department will be in communication with the council shortly. An allocation has been made by my Department to fund this scheme in 1989 and the county council have been advised accordingly.
