120.

asked the Minister for Health if he will make funds available either through the national lottery or through the health promotion unit for an Irish child sexual abuse prevention programme to ensure such a programme is piloted in the education system at primary level; and if he will make a statement on the future of this preventative programme.

121.

asked the Minister for Health if he will make funds available for the child abuse prevention pilot study being promoted by the Eastern Health Board in primary schools.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 120 and 121 together.

In conjunction with the Minister for Education, I am currently reviewing various programmes in this area with a view to identifying the most appropriate child sexual abuse prevention programme and its method of delivery in the Irish context.
