Vol. 388 No. 4

Written Answers. - Louth County Hospital.

30.

asked the Minister for Health when he will make the moneys available for the development of the X-ray department at Louth County Hospital, as already indicated by the North-Eastern Health Board at a recent health board meeting.

The provision of X-ray facilities at Louth County Hospital is a matter for the North-Eastern Health Board in the first instance.

I have not received any specific proposals for the development of the X-ray department as such but I am aware that the health board are anxious to replace some equipment in the department. Funds for the purchase of this equipment will have to be considered in the context of the availability of capital resources generally and other competing priorities and I am not in a position at this stage to say when such funding can be made available.
