asked the Minister for the Environment, in respect of the last two years (i) the number of houses built by each county council, corporation and urban district council in each of the following categories: (a) local authority houses (b) old people's homes and (c) isolated cottages and (ii) the allocation for 1989 for each of the above authorities.

Details of completions of new local authority dwellings are not available in the Department in the format requested by the Deputy. Details of the total number of new local authority dwellings completed by each housing authority in 1988 are set out in the attached schedule; the corresponding details for 1987 are given in the reply to Question No. 218 of 19 April 1988.

The capital allocation to each housing authority for its 1989 housing construction programme is also set out in the following schedule:

asked the Minister for the Environment when details of the new purchasing scheme for flatlets will be given to local authorities throughout the country following his announcement at the recent Fianna Fáil Ard-Fheis; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I hope to be in a position to circulate details of the scheme to local authorities shortly.
