Vol. 388 No. 5

Written Answers. - Ballymun, Dublin School.

277.

asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement on (a) the condition of the structure of the Holy Spirit boys' and girls' national school, Sillogue Road, Ballymun, Dublin 11 (b) the condition of the softwood repairs from five years ago when refurbishment was carried out and (c) the need for refurbishment with hardwood; and if there are any plans for such a refurbishment.

My Department's architect has been asked to report urgently on the structure of the school premises at Holy Spirit Boys and Girls National Scholl, Sillogue Road, Ballymun, Dublin 11, including the question of the roof, the windows and the doors. When the architect's report is to hand, the matter of the sanction of a grant in respect of necessary works will be fully considered and a decision will be conveyed to the school authorities at the earliest possible date. In 1982 remedial works were carried out to the windows of the school under the aegis of an architect in private practice engaged by the school authorities. What seems to be involved now is the complete replacement of the windows. A decision will be taken in this respect when my Department's architect makes his report.
