Written Answers. - Unused Dublin Housing.

33.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Office of Public Works have concluded their negotiations with Dublin Corporation in respect of the complete and total transfer of title from the Office of Public Works to Dublin Corporation of the unused housing accommodation at Beggars Bush, Dublin 4; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

39.

asked the Minister for Finance the plans, if any, he has to provide for the restoration and renovation of the derelict and dilapidated buildings at Beggars Bush, Dublin 4; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 33 and 39 together.

Following negotiations between Dublin Corporation and the Commissioners of Public Works on the transfer of ownership to Dublin Corporation of the property at Beggar's Bush Barracks, which was formerly used for housing purposes, the Commissioners are in consultation with the Department of Finance in regard to settlement of the terms. A decision is expected soon.

There are no immediate plans to undertake restoration of the buildings on the east side of the former Barrack's square, which are at present unused.
