Vol. 390 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Kildare School Project.

72.

asked the Minister for Education the present proposals for the extension and improvement of Kilmeade national school, County Kildare; her proposed schedule in relation to the works involved; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Substantial improvements have recently been completed at Kilmeade national school, County Kildare with grant-aid from my Department. The improvements were general remedial works to the school building, the provision of a replacement prefabricated accommodation and toilets, tarmacadamed playspace, and new electrical and heating systems and furniture.

The question of the provision of a permanent extension to the school is being considered in the context of the large number of projects on hands and the available capital. A decision in the matter will be conveyed to the school authorities as early as possible.
