asked the Minister for Education if her Department will make funds available for the provision of a new community college on a greenfield site at Caherciveen, County Kerry in order to comply with the wishes of the majority of the parents in the area.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 111 and 118 together.

I have already decided to establish a community college at Caherciveen and funds will be made available for that purpose as required.

The question of acquiring a suitable location for the proposed new community school is at present being considered in my Department. I am not, however, in a position at this time to indicate precisely particulars of any proposed purchase agreement as arrangements have not yet been finalised for the acquisition of a location.
