asked the Minister for Education whether more remedial teachers are essential for the Clondalkin primary schools, Dublin 22; if she will authorise further appointments as necessary following on requests from the schools concerned; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

A committee comprising of officials of my Department, representatives of the INTO and of management are at present examining the question of disadvantage in primary schools.

This matter will also be submitted to the central review committee under the Programme for National Recovery.
