Contract documents for this scheme were approved in February 1987, clearing the way for Waterford County Council to seek tenders for the project.
The county council did not advertise for tenders but recently submitted a proposal to carry out the work themselves by direct labour. This proposal is at present under examination in my Department and, if found in order, will be considered for approval in the light of existing commitments on the sanitary services programme and the level of finance available.
