Vol. 392 No. 1

Written Answers. - Moneypoint Power Station.

161.

asked the Minister for Energy if he has had discussions with the ESB regarding the installation of scrubbers on the chimney at Moneypoint power station in County Clare as such work would make a major contribution to the European clean air policy.

ESB power stations, including Moneypoint, have all the necessary equipment to comply with standards set down in the EC directive on the limitation of emissions from large combustion plants. In the circumstances I have had no specific discussions with the board on this issue.
