Vol. 392 No. 1

Written Answers. - Carysfort National School.

360.

asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that Carysfort national school, Blackrock, County Dublin, was left with no parcel of land for play purposes during the recent sale of the Carysfort complex; and if she will make representations to the new owners to dedicate such a piece of land to the school in the greater community interest.

The piece of land to which the Deputy refers was not part of the vested site of Carysfort national school. It was a part of the site of Carysfort College which the school had permission to use for recreational purposes. The piece of land was, of course, sold recently since it formed part of the Carysfort site. The identity of the new owners of Carysfort has not yet been disclosed and any initiative in relation to the acquisition of the piece of land in question would be a matter for the patron of the school. However, I would indeed be prepared to raise the matter with the new owners.
