Vol. 392 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Kildare School Extension.

363.

asked the Minister for Education the present position with regard to the proposed extension to St. Wolstan's Holy Faith girls school, Dublin Road, Celbridge, County Kildare; if her attention has been drawn to the urgent necessity to allow this project to proceed; to the difficulties caused by a lack of adequate facilities in this school; and if she will give an indication as to the likely starting date for the extension works.

I am aware of the difficulties regarding the accommodation situation in St. Wolstan's. In that context I have recently decided to advance the planning of the project to stage 4 (working drawings).

It would be premature to project at this time when construction will commence as the funding of all post-primary building projects, including St. Wolstan's is dependent on the availability of future capital resources and on my Department's other commitments and priorities.
