The current per annum cost of posts of responsibility in primary schools is £15,950,000.
The cost of posts of responsibility in secondary, community and comprehensive schools, in the 1988-89 school year, was £15.380 million. Precise information in relation to the current cost of posts of responsibility in vocational schools is not readily available as payment of teachers in such schools is made by the vocational education committees, but the cost is estimated at about £5 million.
