Vol. 392 No. 3

Written Answers. - Dublin Schools.

172.

asked the Minister for Education if she will provide funding for the replacement of the roof of St. Laurence College, Loughlinstown, County Dublin which was blown off in 1987; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am not in a position at present to indicate when capital will be provided for this project, as funding is dependent on the availability of future capital resources and on my Department's other commitments and priorities.

173.

asked the Minister for Education if she will expedite plans for the reconstruction of a school (details supplied) in Dublin 9 which has been operating for 22 years in a prefabricated building and whose design life ended 12 years ago.

A building project for this school is at an early stage of architectural planning. As with all such building projects, especially those in urban areas, my Department are reviewing the project for this school in the context of the long-term post-primary needs of the surrounding areas.

Any decisions in relation to this building project will be taken by me in the light of my Department's review.
