Vol. 392 No. 3

Written Answers. - Mullagh (Cavan) Farm.

28.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his attention has been drawn to the serious concern among farmers in the Mullagh area of County Cavan as a result of the outbreak of disease on a farm (details supplied) resulting in serious continued losses in that herd; and if he will resolve this problem by buying out the remainder of this herd for experimental purposes.

I am aware of the concern over an outbreak of maligant catarrhal fever on a farm in the Mullagh area of County Cavan. This herd has been depopulated under the ERAD TB eradication scheme. Two animals were, however, removed to the Department's Central Veterinary Research Laboratory for research purposes.
