Vol. 392 No. 3

Written Answers. - Honey Imports.

44.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the names of all persons licensed to import honey into the State; and the amount of honey imported for each of the past three years.

There is no licensing system in operation in respect of imports of honey and information on persons involved in importation is not available in my Department.

According to the Central Statistics Office the figures for importation for each of the past three years are: 1987, 1331 tonnes; 1988, 1059 tonnes; 1989, 908 tonnes (up to 31 July).
