Vol. 392 No. 3

Written Answers. - Kilcullen (Kildare) Sewerage Scheme.

117.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received submissions from Kildare County Council regarding the provision of a sewerage scheme for Kilcullen; if he has inspected these plans; if these are satisfactory, if he will sanction the scheme having particular regard to the development needs of the area; the cost of the proposed scheme; if same has or will be provided for in the 1990 Estimates; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Proposals for a new sewerage scheme to serve Kilcullen are at preliminary planning stage and no firm costings have been developed. These proposals are under consideration in my Department and I expect to give a decision in the near future. However, as the scheme is at an early stage of planning, the question of providing funds in 1990 does not arise.
