The per capita grant to secondary schools in the free post-primary education scheme was increased to £140 per eligible pupil per annum with effect from 1 January, 1986.
I understand from the Central Statistics Office that the Consumer Price Index has increased by 11.6% from mid-February 1986 to mid-August 1989.
