Vol. 392 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital (County Limerick) School.

203.

(Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education the plans which have been submitted to her Department for an extension to Presentation/De La Salle secondary school, Hospital, County Limerick; if she has made a decision regarding this plan; if she will make a statement on the accommodation needs of post-primary students at present attending schools in Hospital; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Plans for the proposed extension to the Presentation/De La Salle secondary school in Hospital, County Limerick, have been received in my Department. As indicated in my reply of 24 October and in accordance with normal practice, preliminary discussions have taken place regarding the amalgamation of the existing schools. The purpose of these discussions is to determine how best the long-term accommodation needs of the post primary students in Hospital can be catered for. Pending the outcome of the discussions, no decision will be taken on the planned extension to the secondary school.
