Vol. 392 No. 4

Written Answers. - Installation Aid Grants.

79.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his attention has been drawn to the large number of young farmers who are unable to avail of installation aid grants because of inordinate delays in the Land Registry rendering it impossible for many applicants to prove ownership of their land; and if, in light of such hardship, he will consider issuing the appropriate grant entitlement on the basis of the production of a sealed stamped transfer or deed of conveyance together with an undertaking to lodge copy title on completion of the Land Registry dealing.

Installation aid is not normally paid until the applicant has furnished evidence of registration. However, I understand that where a special request is made the Land Registry can arrange for registration as a matter of urgency.
