Vol. 392 No. 5

Written Answers. - National Waste Management Policy.

53.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he proposes to introduce a comprehensive national waste management policy.

A national waste management policy already exists with the general objective of ensuring that all wastes, and particularly any hazardous wastes which call for special disposal arrangements, are safely disposed of without risk to public health or to the environment. I will review the policy in this area with a view to proposing any changes or new implementation measures that may be needed.
