Vol. 392 No. 7

Written Answers. - Dublin Hospital Services.

152.

asked the Minister for Health whether sufficient resources are available to the Adelaide Hospital, Dublin 8 to enable that hospital to meet its commitments in terms of provision of a full range of services; if a shortage of resources is causing delays at present; if he will increase resources in order to allow the hospital fulfil its commitments; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The latest revised allocation for 1989 for the Adelaide Hospital is £6.850 million which is £0.394 million more than the 1988 allocation of £6.456 million I am satisfied that the funds provided will enable the hospital to maintain services, to provide for rheumatological services and 100 additional hip replacement operations in this year and that it is on a par with other hospitals in dealing with the demands placed on its services. I will shortly be deciding on allocations for 1990 and will, in this context, be having discussions with the hospital regarding its resource needs for 1990.
