Vol. 392 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Kilkenny National Monument.

59.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will examine the possibility of erecting a suitable plaque on the roadside near Balief Castle, Woodsgift, via Thurles, County Kilkenny to outline its history, in view of the enormous touristic interest in this particular national monument.

The Commissioners of Public Works are engaged on a programme of erecting information signs, as resources permit, at national monuments in their ownership or guradianship. As Balief Castle is not in either category the commissioners do not propose to erect a sign here in the near future.
