It is not correct to state that the regional sports centre planned for Cork will not proceed.
The Government has approved the provision of a regional sports centre in Cork with an allocation of £1.75 million from national lottery funds.
Cork Corporation are undertaking the planning of the project in consultation with my Department with a view to construction work commencing at the earliest possible date.
