asked the Minister for Education if the new junior certificate will be available to be taken by any applicant or will be restricted to those who have completed an approved course as in the case of the intermediate certificate.

To be eligible to be admitted to the junior certificate examination, a pupil will be required to have followed an approved junior certificate course of not less than three years duration.
