The primary schools building programme consists of new schools, permanent extensions and a wide range of improvements to existing schools. Expenditure in any one financial year arises from contractual commitments in respect of projects in progress and new building starts. The question of what new projects will be approved for commencement in 1990 is currently being considered in my Department.
