asked the Taoiseach if his attention has been drawn to the fact that priceless and irreplaceable archival documentation from the State Solicitor's Office, representative of the period from the foundation of the State to modern times, is at risk; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There is no basis for the suggestion that records of the Chief State Solicitor's Office, representative of the period from the foundation of the State to modern times, are at risk. My understanding of the situation is based on the firm advice of the Chief State Solicitor and that of the director of the National Archives, who has a statutory responsibility to examine and acquire departmental records in accordance with the terms of the National Archives Act, 1986.
