asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his attention has been drawn to the fact that former qualified staff of An Foras Talúntais at Creagh, Ballinrobe, County Mayo and at present of Teagasc are currently attending on a daily basis at the farm centre in Ballinrobe, County Mayo where there is no work available to them; and if he will make a statement on the immediate and urgent need to provide these staff with alternative and suitable permanent employment as is their right.

I have been informed by Teagasc that the transfer of the staff concerned to alternative locations is currently being discussed with the staff interests and that a satisfactory solution is likely to be reached soon.
