The receiver to Verolme Cork Dockyard is continuing his efforts to find a suitable purchaser for the yard. A number of interested parties viewed the yard in recent months but, despite the fact that negotiations with one of the potential purchasers reached an advanced stage, it has not yet been possible to bring those negotiations to a successful conclusion. The receiver is keeping in close touch with the Departments concerned and the IDA with a view to disposing of the yard for shipbuilding and/or ship repair purposes on a commercially viable basis.
