Vol. 394 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Library.

62.

asked the Taoiseach the number of staff currently employed in the National Library, Dublin 2; and the reason opening times are being curtailed at present.

The number of staff currently employed in the National Library is 49. Opening hours have been curtailed pending negotiations with the unions on duties and rostering. These negotiations have now been concluded and the arrangements agreed include the redeployment of up to nine staff from elsewhere in the public service.

The opening of the Library in the evenings and on Saturdays and the restoration of full ancillary services will take place as the new arrangements take effect.
