Under the Science and Technology Act, 1987 the functions of the Institute for Industrial Research and Standards (IIRS) were merged with those of the National Board for Science and Technology (NBST), in the new Science and Technology Agency, EOLAS.
There are no plans to move any part of EOLAS to Limerick.
